Here's a few shots from my shoot with actor Rupert Young from last weeks shoot.

Amy Lennox - Actress

Scottish actress Amy Lennox has a CV that would be the envy of most. On graduating from Guildford School of Acting Conservatoire In 2007, Amy auditioned in front of Andrew Lloyd Webber to win the role of Liesl in The Sound of Music, making her West End debut alongside Connie Fisher.  She then went on to appear as Margot as part of the original London Cast of Legally Blonde the Musical at the Savoy Theatre. After starring in the world premier concert of the Stiles and Drewe musical Soho Cinders, Amy recreated the character of Velcro in the full stage production of the musical at the Soho Theatre, for her role, Amy gained a Broadway World Awards nomination for Best Actress. Not confining herself to a purely musical career Amy has also starred in a new play directed by Rupert Gould Decade, written to mark the anniversary of 9/11.

Amy is currently touring the UK in Dolly Parton's new musical, 9 to 5, playing Doralee Rhodes, the role made famous by Parton herself. 

Jalaal Hartley - Actor

Here's a portrait that I shot on yesterdays shoot with Jalaal Hartley ( who's looking like the 5th musketeer : ) Jalaal is a talented actor and very funny man, I've shot Jalaal a few times now and he's a pleasure to work with : )

The portrait was shot using available daylight in my front room at home.

Martin Wilde - Actor - Stunt Double

Martin Wilde, actor stunt double. known for his work on Maleficent (2014), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2011) and Skyfall (2012).

Phoebe Thomas - Actress

Phoebe is best known for her parts in the movies Lady Godiva and Permanent Vacation and also for her roll in Holby City as Maria Kendall.

Charlotte Riley - Actress

I had a lovely day shooting the beautiful Charlotte Riley last week. Charlotte called me to see if I could fit her in for a quick photo session before she flew off to shoot a new series for American Television. Charlotte is probably best known for her part in Wuthering Hieghts as Catherine.

We needed somewhere nice and interesting to do the shoot and it just so happened that Charlotte and her fiancé Tom Hardy had booked into one of London's uber cool hotels in Soho for the week to do some press for Tom's new movie Warrior. So that worked out nicely for us and gave me a lovely backdrop for Charlotte's portraits.

Ben Cura - Actor

I had the pleasure of shooting Ben at a London Studio recently. Ben's off shooting his first film at the moment, the film's called "Comes A Bright Day" and he's playing Mr. Sullivan.

Would the real Jalaal Hartley please step forward

This is the second time I've had the pleasure of shooting Jalaal Hartley, Jalaal is an actor, he also writes for television under his pen name and directs in the theatre, he's one of the funniest people I've had the pleasure of working with, I just have to look at him and I burst out laughing. It's difficult to know when Jalaal's being serious, he's just one of these funny guy's. Every time I point my camera at him I see something different.

We shot Jalaal at his home in West London using available light both inside and on the roof.

Shoot at LAMDA

Welcome to my new blog

I thought I'd start my blog with a recent shoot that I did with a young actor called Michael Stevenson. Michael called me on the recommendation of his new agent Conway Vangelder, one of the most respected agents for actors in London.

Amazingly we got permission to do the shoot at LAMDA - The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art where Michael learnt his craft. We were lucky enough to do the shoot in this large room which the academy has affectionately called Hogwarts.

I remember when I first moved to London, I used to pass LAMDA on the bus all the time, I never knew what the building was or what it might be used for but I'll never forget, I used to sit there and imagine that great painters must have lived there once upon a time and used this space as their studios with these great arched windows and all that beautiful daylight beaming through, and now I know.
